Wisconsin man accused of human trafficking in ND

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) -- A Wisconsin man is accused of bringing females to North Dakota against their will to engage in prostitution.

Thirty-one-year-old Levell Durr faces a human trafficking charge in federal court. He appeared in court Monday, and Magistrate Judge Charles Miller ruled that he was eligible for a public defender and scheduled a detention hearing for Thursday.

An affidavit by FBI Special Agent Bruce Bennett alleges that Durr has been trafficking females since at least April, using drugs to keep them compliant.

The Bismarck Tribune reports that police acting on a tip arrested Durr on Friday at a Bismarck hotel.
