Suspect in Custody in Weekend Watertown Arson

WATERTOWN, Wis.--- Three people were hospitalized and one person taken to jail following a fire Sunday morning in Watertown.

The fire started Sunday morning at 2:00am at 501 N. Fourth St. in Watertown. The Watertown Fire Department says two people in a second floor apartment had to jump to safety. A third person was rescued by firefighters. All three were taken to hospitals and are expected to be okay.

Multiple apartments on the second floor suffered heavy damage. Apartments and a business on the first floor have smoke and water damage.

An investigation found the fire was arson and a suspect has been taken into custody, according to the Watertown Fire Department.

Departments from Lake Mills, Clyman, Johnson Creek, Waterloo, Lebanon, Lake Mills EMS, Ixonia, Ryan Brothers, Juneau, Oconomowoc, Helenville, Sullivan, Jefferson, Reeseville, Rome, and Juneau EMS helped fight the fire.
