The Madison woman killed in a chain reaction crash over the weekend has been identified. She was 58 year old Jane Sagen.
Authorities say the glare of the morning sun on Saturday is what led to the crash on Highway 30 , at Fair Oaks Avenue.
Deputy Joe Carril is with the Dane County Sheriff's Department. He says the sun was a significant factor during the time of the accident, which was just before 7 a.m.
After Sagen struck a motorcycle, she got out of her car and then was hit by a third vehicle, which set off the chain reaction...involving 8 vehicles.
No citations were issued.
The City of Madison Fire reports that at about 7 Saturday morning, at least 6 vehicles were involved in a crash on Hwy. 30 at Fair Oaks. One person was pronounced dead at the scene and four patients were taken to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries. The Dane County Sheriffs department will over see the crash scene.
