Middleton Man Arrested for Multiple Office Depot Burglaries

Madison Police have arrested a Middleton man who is suspected in a pair of burglaries at Office Depot.

Officers responded to the Whitney Way store at 11:15 p.m. Thursday.

A front window of the store had been smashed out.

Police found an unconscious man near the back of the store, who had a can of cleaning duster at his feet, and another in his hand.

There was also a backpack containing a stolen camcorder and another can of cleaning duster next to him.

Police were concerned for the man's health, knowing that “huffing” the substances can be fatal.

One officer was able to bring the man around, but he immediately began struggling with police.

Police arrested 25-year-old Anthony Prest of Middleton for Burglary - 2 counts, Resisting/Obstructing, Criminal Damage to Property, Bail Jumping and Abuse of a Hazardous Substance.

Along with being a suspect in the Thursday night burglary, he's also a suspect in an Aug. 26th break-in at the same store.
