James Kruger is currently being held in the Iowa County Jail on a $500,000 bond for charges that stem out of Iowa Co. from the incidents that occurred on 9-10-13.
Kruger faces seven felony charges amongst others, including:
Knowingly fleeing an officer
Operating a motor vehicle without owner's consent
Felon in possession of a firearm
False imprisonment and bomb scare
Carrying a concealed weapon
OWI with Drugs
A 36 year old Madison man's crime spree came to an end on Highway 18/151 Tuesday afternoon.
James Kruger was wanted for a stabbing early Monday morning on Madison's Northeast side. The 48 year old victim in the stabbing is expected to recover.
Kruger was taken into custody near Mount Horeb following a high speed chase spanning multiple counties. Police threw down road spikes, causing Kruger's car to overturn.
Adding to the drama, authorities believed there might have been an explosive device in the car so that section of Highway 18-151 was closed for more than an hour after the crash. No device was found.
In addition to the stabbing in Madison, Kruger is believed to be responsible for a home invasion near Cassville Tuesday morning. He reportedly took a hostage and a truck. The hostage managed to escape.
Kruger then stole another car near Barneveld. Schools in Barneveld and Hollandale were locked down during the pursuit Tuesday.
Grant Co. deputies and Madison Police are searching for 36-year-old James Kruger, who is wanted on attempted homicide charges stemming from an overnight stabbing in the 2600 block of Coolidge St.
Kruger is also wanted on charges from Platteville Police.
Kruger is considered armed and dangerous. If you see him, do not approach him. Call 911.
Kruger was last seen south of Cassville at approximately 715 a.m.
