Gays Mills man arrested for ruckus at Middleton bar

Middleton Police say a man has been arrested after allegedly injuring two officers after causing a scene at a local restaurant.

Middleton officers responded to the Mid-Town Pub at 2405 Allen Blvd. shortly before 6:30 Wednesday night. A man was reportedly flipping tables and pushing customers.

Police say that employees refused to serve the man more alcohol. He reportedly became upset. Officers say two parents eating with their children were among the people he pushed.

The man fled in a vehicle, but a witness gave a license plate number to police. Officers stopped the vehicle a short time later.

The man allegedly failed field sobriety tests and was arrested. Police say he then hit an officer in the face with his head. Two officers and the suspect were injured during the arrest.

Police say 27-year-old Jeremy Childs of Gays Mills was arrested and booked into jail on charges of 4th offense OWI, two counts of battery, five counts of disorderly conduct, battery to law enforcement officer and resisting an officer – causing injury.
