The Madison School District heard from some ticked off parents this week, about holding a fire drill in the bitter cold. Schools are required to hold drills once a month. The district's safety coordinator, Luis Yudice, says in "extreme conditions...they can cut corners, like notifying teachers ahead of time so that students can stop by their lockers and get their coats". Yudice adds that "weather is a major concern, and they don't want to expose the children unnecessarily. ". On Wednesday, Falk Elementary ...on Madison's South West side ....held the drill, which school officials say lasted for just 2 minutes.
