Two drivers in separate incidents were arrested for alleged operating while intoxicated, but not because they had been drinking.

Both drivers admitted to taking prescription drugs.

The Dane County Sherriff's office says 52-year old Lynn Zeal of Albany, was cited for operating while intoxicated-first offense, on Highway 51 in the town of Dunkirk at about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.

43-year old Paul Stratton of Waunakee, was cited for operating while intoxicated-first offense following a crash at about 8:30 a.m. Thursday on Highway 12 in the town of Springfield. Stratton allegedly rear-ended another vehicle stopped at a stop sign.

In both cases, the drivers were evaluated by drug recognition experts, law enforcement officers trained to identify drug-impaired drivers.
