MADISON, Wis. (AP) _ State Sen. Mary Lazich storms out of a meeting of the Senate Elections Committee midway through a vote to approve Gov. Scott Walker's appointee to the state elections board.
The Republican Lazich left Wednesday's meeting after Democratic Sen. Lena Taylor would not abide by her order to stop asking a question of the committee attorney.
The committee was voting on whether to recommend appointing former judge Harold Froehlich to the Government Accountability Board. Taylor and fellow Democratic Sen. Mark Miller voted against it since Froehlich made $400 in donations two years ago to Walker and the committee that works to elect Republican senators.
Before leaving, Lazich told Taylor, ``I'm the chair. I deserve some respect here.''
Lazich returned minutes later and the committee voted 3-2 to recommend Froehlich's appointment.
