January 3, 2014 - A burglary suspect was caught in the act on Thursday, January 2nd, when a man went to check on his parents’ residence on Lincoln Road in the town of Oregon at approximately 3:20 pm.
The victim’s son had received a phone call from another family member who saw fresh tire tracks in the snow leading up to the residence. When he arrived at the home, he found Jason L. Svendsen inside. Svendsen, age 32, fled the scene in his 2003 Buick Park Avenue, but Dane County deputies who were already in route to the call stopped him on Lincoln Road, near Storytown Road.
Svendsen was arrested and charged with Burglary and Felony Bail Jumping. In addition, he was issued a citation for Operating After Suspension. Svendsen also faces additional charges by Verona Police.
